Welcome to BannerIt ("we", "our", "us", or "the app"). This Privacy Policy explains how BannerIt collects, uses, and handles information when you use our mobile application. By using BannerIt, you agree to the practices described below.
BannerIt is a multi-screen display utility that lets you connect multiple mobile devices over a shared network to span a single image, slideshow, or text banner across those devices' screens.
BannerIt is designed to be privacy-first. We do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, or precise location. Specifically:
Display name — When creating or joining a room, you may enter a short display name (e.g., "Phone 1"). This is used only to identify devices within a session and is not stored on our servers after the session ends.
Images you upload — When you choose an image to broadcast to the video wall, the image is uploaded to our server temporarily so it can be delivered to connected client devices in the room.
Room codes — Randomly generated 4-character codes to identify sessions.
Device identifiers — Ephemeral, randomly generated IDs (not tied to your device hardware ID, IMEI, advertising ID, or Google Account). Used only to route content within a room.
Device dimensions — Screen width and height in pixels, used to compute how content spans across screens.
❌ Personally identifiable information (PII)
❌ Location data
❌ Contacts, calendar, or SMS
❌ Advertising identifiers
❌ Analytics or behavioral tracking
❌ Persistent account data (we have no user accounts)
Camera — To scan the Host device's QR code so client devices can join a room quickly.
Photos / Media Library — To let you pick images from your device gallery to broadcast to the video wall.
Local Network (iOS) / Nearby Devices (Android) — To discover and communicate with other BannerIt devices connected to the same Wi‑Fi network.
Network access — To connect to our backend server for real-time room synchronization.
We never access these resources without your explicit action (e.g., tapping "Scan QR" or "Add image").
• Establish a real-time connection between the host device and client devices within a room.
• Deliver the image, slideshow, or text banner you chose to broadcast to the connected devices.
• Compute the correct cropped region of your content for each device based on its position in the grid.
• Show the display names you entered so you can identify which device is which.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, analytics, or any secondary purpose.
Session data (room codes, device presence, display names) is stored in memory on our server and is automatically deleted when the room is closed or after a period of inactivity.
Uploaded images are temporarily stored on our server so they can be delivered to connected clients. Images are retained only for the duration of the broadcast session and are automatically purged shortly after.
No personal accounts exist in BannerIt — we cannot associate any data with a specific individual.
We do not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties. There are no third-party analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or tracking libraries integrated into BannerIt.
The only third-party services BannerIt uses are: Hosting infrastructure (our own cloud servers) to relay real-time messages between devices in a room. These providers do not have access to the content of your broadcasts.
BannerIt does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is intended for a general audience and does not require any account or age verification because it does not collect PII from anyone.
We use standard security practices to protect data in transit: All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS and secure WebSockets (WSS). Room codes are randomly generated and short‑lived. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. Please avoid broadcasting sensitive or confidential images through BannerIt.
Because BannerIt does not collect personal information or maintain user accounts, there is no personal data to access, modify, or delete. You can stop using the app at any time by simply closing it — no data will persist after the session ends. If you are located in the EU (GDPR), UK (UK GDPR), or California (CCPA) and have any concerns about how your data is handled, please contact us using the details below.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of BannerIt after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
